Career Criminal Caught With Ghost Gun While Acting Suspiciously In MD, Police Say

A 22-year-old man with a lengthy rap sheet is back on the wrong side of the law after being busted carrying a ghost gun in Prince George’s County.

Capitol Heights resident Chaz Jones, who is no stranger to the police, has been arrested by members of the Seat Pleasant Police Department after he was caught acting oddly and was busted with an illegal weapon, according to authorities.

Police say that early on Monday, July 10, Chaz was walking in the 6100 block of MLK Jr. Highway while holding his waistband as if he was concealing a handgun.

When officers noted the suspicious behavior, they stopped him, and seized a loaded 9mm ghost gun that was on him and he was placed under arrest without further incident.

Investigators made note that Chaz has previously faced charges that include:

  • Armed robbery;
  • Attempted murder;
  • First-degree assault.

He was also prohibited from possessing a weapon at the time of his latest arrest due to his previous offenses.
